Bikes After School - Intermediate Crew
High School aged kids - confident MTB riders
About
The Intermediate Crew is for High School aged kids, who are confident mountain bike riders, but want to improve their skill on the mountain bike in a fun and supportive environment. The goal of the program is to create a safe, fun and inclusive environment for the kids to learn some valuable skills on their bikes - and hopefully make a friend or two while they're at it! Given the shorter daylight hours and limited time after school, this term will focus on low speed maneuvers and flat land skills - crucial for building confidence and capability at speed. The exact meeting location of each week is TBC but will either be Wesburn Park or at another agreed location between Warburton or Wesburn. Beginning Tuesday 28 April, sessions will run from 4:00pm - 5:30pm on the following dates: Tuesday 28 April Tuesday 5 May Tuesday 12 May Tuesday 19 May Tuesday 2 June Tuesday 9 June They’ll need to bring their own (working) bike and helmet, as well as some other important stuff - see the full gear list below. Cost: $180 for 6 weeks payable prior to the first session. Please ensure participants are registered prior to Friday 24 April 2026 to secure their spot. Upon booking, an invoice will sent with payment details. Participant numbers will be capped at 6 for Term 2 to ensure safety and maximum fun! Please note that as the cost covers the full 6 weeks, no full or partial refunds will be issued if a session or sessions are missed due to illness/holidays etc. For our wet/crazy weather policy, please refer to the Terms and Conditions section. Please ensure each child has the following for each session: - A safe and working off-road bicycle - it does not need to be fancy, just in good working order. Please don't hesitate to contact me prior to sessions for advice on this. For example, a BMX (as long as it has working brakes) is fine! MTBs are encouraged but not mandatory. - A well fitted, good quality helmet that complies with Australian Standards. - A water bottle or backpack bladder (we will never be too far from water refill) - Snacks Parents/Guardians: - Please ensure you have read, understand and agreed to the Terms and Conditions on behalf of your child - Please bring any specific medications your child may need e.g. Ventolin, Epipen, glucose supplements. *Term 2 program will go ahead provided a minimum of four participants are registered prior to the first session.
